Kansas City, MO – June 1, 2017 – Apple Central KC, LLC, the local Kansas City franchisee of Applebee’s, announced today that they will be investing over $3mm over the next two years as part of their Kansas City Revitalization Plan. Changes will include a significant refresh of the interior and exterior of their buildings as well as a commitment to reconnect with the local neighborhoods and communities that have supported the brand for so many years.

"There is a very good reason why Applebee’s is still known as America’s Favorite Neighbor", said Scott Fischer, Director of Marketing. "Applebee’s might be the largest casual dining brand in the country, but to those of us who call Kansas City home, we know Applebee’s as a local, home grown brand. Our connection with our community is at the core of our revitalization and will influence the new look and feel of Applebee’s in Kansas City."

In addition to extensive remodels and a more aggressive push to be involved in the local community, the Kansas City Revitalization Plan also calls for new Applebee’s locations in the Kansas City area. "When we purchased these restaurants from Applebee’s corporate about two years ago, we knew that there were some great opportunities for new restaurant development" said Bill Georgas, local franchise owner and CEO of Apple Central KC, LLC. "New locations and extensive remodels have always been part of our long term strategy for Kansas City. It will be very exciting to see the changes and upgrades to our restaurants over the next two years."

Exterior changes will vary by location but will include parking lots, landscaping, and upgrades to the façade of the buildings. Interior changes will focus on seating, tables, and carpeting. Many of the bar and foyer areas will be remodeled as well. New signage and sports-oriented items will be included in many of the remodels to help celebrate their ongoing partnership with the Kansas City Royals. “When we are done with our interior remodels, it will be clear that we are die hard Royals fans…just be careful because you might leave with as blue tongue!” said Georgas.
